In other words pay us more for even less simply because you can’t safely leave the property. The only front desk agent, who was clearly in over her head, told me she could extend the stay but would have to charge me $75 more for than the price I was already paying … but also flippantly told me not to expect to anything to be open. It’s a long drive home so for my safety I went to the front desk to extend my stay another night. It’s been snowing and raining with freezing temps all day. The few employees who are at work are in complete disarray, there is no one helping these people or giving them any direction, clearly the management is resigned to let things fall apart. The resort is charging full price for nights while they have no restaurant, bars, stores or entertainment venues fully open.
To be clear I understand in an ice storm some people can’t get to work, but a resort as large as Choctaw should have plans in place for weather emergencies. A poorly managed nightmare with zero contingency planning, taking advantage of people in a weather emergency.
